I haven't followed this discussion that closely but on the A1200 and A4000,
scsi.device actually refers to the internal IDE-interface.
My AsimCDFS mountlist uses scsi.device and works fine, even though the
CD-ROM is a IDE one attached to the A1200 interface.
When it comes to mountfiles, this is rather handy. I don't have to change
anything at all when transfering settings between my A1200/A3000 and A4000.
Not that I do it very often but still...
